Looking for Valentine
Gift Baskets?

Finding it hard to find a personalized gift for your partner? I've always found Valentine gift baskets to be something helpful in this kind of situation.

Here are some reasons why I love them:

- They can be as cheap or expensive as you want them to be
- You can get them customized to suite your partner's likes
- There's no rules as to what you can have inside them (go as crazy as you want!)
- You can make them yourself with very little effort
- With a gift basket, you're actually giving a bunch of little gifts all wrapped into one, so it'll be lots of fun when they open it and discover all the little goodies inside
- Pre-made theme baskets make it easy to buy for someone who is normally hard to buy for

Valentine gift baskets really are the type of gift that never goes out of style, even if your partner's style changes as time goes on.

Here are some common items you might find in gift baskets:

- Chocolates
- Candy
- Wine or Champaign
- Perfumes
- Candles
- Music
- Bubble bath or soaps
- Gift Certificates

Remember though, even if you buy a pre-made gift basket for your partner that doesn't mean that you can't add your own little goodies to it to make it more personal.

How To Make Your Own Gift Basket

* Decide on your basket's theme. If you're going romantic, choosing reds and pinks will go over well.

* Go to your local craft store and buy a wicker basket, a couple feet of ribbon and some cellophane (the size of the basket depends on how many items you plan to fill it with). Then head over to your grocery store to buy items to fill it with.

* When you get home, cut out about 2 yards of the cellophane. Lay it face down on a table, and center your basket on top.

* Fill your basket with your goodies, arranging them as nice as possible.

* Wrap your basket by grabbing all four corners of the cellophane, and bringing them up above the basket.

* Tie the cellophane tightly with ribbon to hold the contents in place.

Here are some popular basket themes that you'll find in stores:

- Spa baskets
- Holiday baskets
- Occasional baskets
- Food themed baskets (Chocolate, Candy, Fruit, Wine, Cheese, Popcorn, Cookies, Coffee, Tea, BBQ sauce)
- Beer and Wine
- Cheese

It's pretty hard to go wrong when giving a gift basket, but still, try to be sure to focus on a theme that will suite your partner's tastes the best.

One of my favorite things about buying valentine gift baskets is that I can do it from the comfort of my own home, and I don't even need to make a trip to the post office.

If there's one thing I recommend (especially if you live with your partner and can't sneak off without them noticing) it's going online to buy the basket and having it sent to them via the retailer. This way it will be a total surprise when it arrives at their door.. at their work.. wherever you decide to have it sent to.

Maybe you can even have it sent with a singing telegram? Who knows!
