Tulum Mayan Ruins

If you’re looking for a Mexican holiday that combines modern, seaside fun with ancient history and artifacts, then Tulum is the perfect place to get the best of both worlds.
On the BeachBeing located on the Caribbean coast of Mexico, Tulum of course has some fantastic beaches, and if you want to spend your holiday having fun in the sun, then it’s a perfect choice. It’s a little less packed with sun seekers than some other Mexican resorts, but still offers the same great water sports, white sands and even scuba diving or snorkeling. In fact, it’s right next to the second largest reef in the world. -- Tulum Mayan Ruins --
Eco TourismTulum is also a recognized ecological area, which means there are plenty of natural attractions to be seen. Explore the wilderness, which is as yet unspoilt by the hordes that seem to have invaded the better known Mexican resort towns.
Explore TulumIf you like your holidays far from the madding crowd, Tulum is a great choice. Aside from Carnival season, there’s not a lot happening here, and if you want to visit a restaurant or bar, the best bet is to visit one of the hotels just outside of town. Then again, there are local markets, where you can find local arts and crafts, and food stalls, where you can sample real Mexican food in the street, while you wander the quiet streets. -- Tulum Mayan Ruins --
The Tulum RuinsOne of the major draw cards of Tulum are the ruins. So if you like a little history with your sun, sand and sea, then Tulum is a great choice. These ruins are from the Mayan civilization, and they’re pretty unique, since they’re perched on the cliffs right next to the sea. There are several temples, with amazing carved frescoes, and because it’s less busy than other parts of the Mayan Riviera, you might even be lucky enough to do your exploring alone. This is especially true if you can visit early in the morning (come on, one day in your holiday – you can do it!) or late at night. Then you can sit, watch the sun rise or set over the sea or the interior of Mexico, and imagine what it must have been like when the Mayans still ruled here. Tulum is the perfect spot for a romantic holiday with your beloved. It’s quiet, secluded and peaceful. You can spend time on the white sands virtually alone, wander the streets hand in hand, and enjoy food, sights and fantastic monuments. There are some great hotels that do offer modern conveniences, and internet cafes to keep in touch with the people back home. But you won’t have to elbow your way through crowds to get to any of them, and when you just want to be alone, and enjoy the silence, the beautiful Caribbean ocean, and each other’s company, you can. The good news is that because it’s relatively unknown, it’s also reasonably priced. All in all, I’d say, when it comes to getting away from it all in Mexico, Tulum should be the top choice. -- Tulum Mayan Ruins --
