Masha Mason seemed so relaxed and natural. Richard Dreyfuss is in a rare performance doing his comedic best. He made a great lover in this movie.

I love this movie because Amy Adams is looking like a cute damsel and Matthew Goode is looking great as well. Both share a tremendous chemistry in the movie, which is very important to bring to life the characters played by them. One of the best things I like about this movie is how Amy Adam “goes to the end of the world” for her boyfriend in order to propose to him on a leap day, February 29, but finds a true love for herself. The whole idea is so romantic and fantastical.

The scenes where the two of them have to be together works out a charm in the story, that you wish Anna Brady, the character played by Amy Adams, opens her eyes to see that Declan O’Callaghan, the character played by Matthew Goode, is so right for her in every way. He does not take advantage of her situation, and even though he mocks at her desperation to propose to her boyfriend, he is the only one that helps her out when others were making fun of this lonely girl so far away from her home in America. The beauty of the Irish countryside is marvelous and breathtaking. With the rainy scenes and misty weather, the combination is great for any romantic comedy.

The movie is really a light hearted fair with a good comedic act. I can go on to watch it over and over again and yet not get bored even once. It is beautifully made too, so you would enjoy the acting, directing and the story. Watch it once and you will definitely want to watch it again.

It's original and not cliche and formulaic like so many of the other romantic movies listed here. This is Jim Carrey's best role. I wish that he did more movies like this, even though he is a great comedic actor.

Just watch it! Its in french but with subtitles, still great!

It would be correct, but highly misleading, to say that Jeux d'enfants is the story of a game of truth or dare gone wildly out of control.

The games (jeux) begin when Julien and Sophie are children (enfants), but as they grow older they intensify and become more twisted and dangerous.

Although they are in love with each other, the game later dictates their future, and the dare even goes as far as hurting and tricking each other.

It tells a story of two adults who never wanted to grow up and are getting this big burst of adrenaline out of this game. Their likewise escalating love strives to be expressed in a way other than through the games.

The overarching theme is of a struggle between childhood playfulness and the expectations of the adult world: the characters age significantly over the course of the film, and Julien is forced — several times — to pick between the rose–coloured world of fun represented by Sophie, or the expectations, demands, and successes of the adult world represented by his father and his eventual wife and children.

Sophie, meanwhile, is content to live her life — as she puts it "a cream puff", becoming a trophy wife to a successful football player. Nonetheless, she keeps returning to Julien, despite her superficial satisfaction with what she has.

In My opinion Life should move forward not move backwards or stay as it is, life is an adventure that should be taken and live life as it is and don't change a thing. And being afraid of death is not a bad thing but we fear death because its something new to us but maybe it is a good thing. So our fear of death should not make us fear life,you are afraid of drowning will you stop swimming, you are afraid that while riding an air plane it might crash but you still ride it. so we should not fear life but we should fear an UN lived life.

Veer Zara was released in 2004 but I watched this movie in 2008, 4 years after its release. I saw this movie because i liked the songs from it. When I watched it, it turned out to be my favorite movie of all time... the songs, dialog, music, romance & the acting of SRK were all mind blowing...

I love many of the scenes in this movie, which were directed superbly.

The scene where veer met Zara for the first time, when Zara's hair disturbs her and Veer arranges it...

When Veer & Zara are on their way to the railway station, Zara fractures her leg and Veer lifts her in his arms. When Veer looks into Zara's eyes she's shy, she looks the other way and when veer took his eyes off of Zara, she looks into Veer's eyes... OMG I just love this scene!

I also loved the entire station scene when Veer met Raze.

Zara's mother's conversation with Veer in Shabbo's house...

When Veer asks Zara to marry Raze... And when they met again after 20 years.

I throughly enjoy this movie....

I could see the love and the passion in the eyes of the characters in the movie and it moves me a lot.

this movie is amazing. when me and my boyfriend went to the movies to see this it was so romantic. at one point i looked over at my boyfriend and he was crying. this movie made us fall in love all over again because we could relate to it. this is one of the best love stories ever.

A walk in the clouds

The story revolves around Paul (Played by Keanu Reaves) and Victoria (played by Aitana Sanchez).
The story is very simply portrayed with both the leads playing their roles very well.
Paul is an ex army sgt who is trying hard to make his marriage work taking up small jobs. While on his trip to Sacramento as a candy seller, he meets Victoria who is a graduate student. Her family owns a vineyard. She is unmarried and pregnant and the guy has walked out on her. Her family is very traditionalistic and would never approve of her behavior.

Paul offers to introduce himself to her family as her husband.
Victoria's father is infuriated. Paul's initial plan is to quietly leave at night and continue on his journey, leaving Victoria's family to believe he abandoned her. but Victoria's grandfather Don Pedro encourages him to stay and help with the harvest.
During the harvest Paul grows closer to the family and their traditions. Paul and Victoria try to ignore their growing attraction and feelings for each other. However Paul's conscience prompts him to save his marriage and return home, but when he does he discovers his wife is involved with another man he returns to Victoria to ask her to marry him.
At the end there is this scene where Victoria's father accidentally causes a fire which destroys the vineyard. However Paul remembers one plant that may have survived this fire and brings it back to the family. The family sets out to replant and rebuild their vineyard with their newest member.

Julia Roberts is amazing and so spontaneous in her acting. Every thing in the film is rightly set. It is bright, it is hilarious, it is perfect. Hot choice for Michael, he is so princely handsome and the most brilliant choice for the princess-like my dear, lovable, and so overwhelming in character Cameron Diaz. I love everything about her. It is the choice and the contrast, it is Jello for Julia who is creme brule in herself and it is creme brule for Cmeron to Julia in this movie with all the costume, hair, look and that gorgoeus and ever-lasting overwhelming spontaneous acting of my friend Julia. I love the movie all the romance and looks in it.

Oddly, I didn't see this 'GREAT' love story movie in any list!? Actually, it shows how 'a few of us' are simply honest loyal lovers in marriage, and this story of being with someone who was not the same, ...shows a certain kind of 'finding true love equality' when two people of the same values and character virtues, overcome past hurts and uncertainties,..and discover like-souls. I love this movie, for its reality of how many of those of us with 'certain character qualities', are often drawn into the wrong marriage with individuals who do not share those same simple things of 'being an unselfish lover to the end'.

I'd invite you to take a good look at this movie, and if you're single... chose 'the internal character attributes' of someone you might love and be loved by,...before you chose WHO you would surrender your life to in marriage. Only the inside values, motives and character attributes of good imperfect people...can be the right match for a HOPE that never sinks!

Because it's is all about romance and the book is all about romance. Bella gives up basically her whole life for Edward. What's so amazing about it is that it's a normal girl falling in love with a vampire and it isn't disturbing or scary, it's mysterious and amazing. I really think you should add it to your list.

A Veiled Gem

Although this is ONE of my favorites, I'm surprised it is very rarely considered on romantic lists, so I decided to bring it up: The Painted Veil, starring Edward Norton and Naomi Watts. It is mainly a drama film that involves love but displays it in a sense similar to 'When Harry Met Sally' where the characters grow outside the relationship, and we see this growth in them so the story is even more fulfilling. There are no beds covered in roses, sweeping poetry read to the lover, but there is still a sweet something to it and I just love the story as a whole. It's about growth in love and life. Remember, give 'The Painted Veil' a try.

I do warn you, some tissues might be needed.

I personally love The Notebook, for me it is the best movie of all time. It is so romantic how true love can go.
They were so young when they fell in love, and went through alot, but at the end they stayed together, and always supported each other.
I recommend it if you have not seen this movie.

Not to mention the score, actors, director, location...

The actual location of the film has HUGE gatherings every year to celebrate the thing..... ummm, does no one remember this film?!! This is one of the greats. It should be up there in rank!! That's if...AND ONLY if....you're a romantic at heart. If not.....you won't get it at all and your soul is weak/dead. I guess I'm partial to it. I saw it when I was young then went through it while an adult(in a way). The film is numbing if you can feel it. So much like "the Notebook". So good!....but so sad. I hope you enjoy it.

Well not only was it written by Jane Austen but the actors play their roles perfectly. And it shows that love is very powerful and that is magic, it can come from anywhere, but when it happens you'll love that person forever. Since Lizzie swore that she would hate Mr. Darcy, she ends up falling utterly and completely in love with the guy that she least expected to fall in love with.
