The Black ForestIf you think Black Forest is only a delicious cake, think again! Yes, this is the place where the cake came from (and you can still find them here), but the Black Forest is much more. It’s a part of Germany that’s filled with quaint old world towns, mountains, rivers and of course, forests, and is perfect if you want a secluded mountain getaway, away from the rat race, or if you love hiking, or skiing. Amazing rock formations, cliffs, valleys and plains, with falcons, otters and other wildlife on view. It’s clear that if you plan a trip to Germany, there are many options other than the obvious, that will offer you a fantastic, romantic and relaxing getaway. Of course, if you do go in October, no one would argue with paying the Oktoberfest a visit, and sampling the beer out of a stein. Neither would anyone complain too much if you opened up on the autobahn. If you’re looking for a great mix of modern and traditional, natural and manmade, relaxed country side and bustling cities, then Germany is quite possibly the choice for you.
