Paris

The City of Light. Paris is probably one of the best cities in the world to visit for an overdose of romance, culture, fine cuisine, and joie de vivre.

Stand on the Eiffel tower with your beloved, looking out over the city lights, or take a stroll down the Champs Ellysees – it’s guaranteed to feel like you’re in a romantic movie (especially since the area has appeared in so many romantic movies!) Then have your picture taken at the Arc de Triomphe.Another great place to visit is the Louvre, with its collection of some of the world’s finest artworks, or you could just spend the day window shopping, and sitting at a pavement café with a croissant and a cup of fantastic French coffee.

Versailles

If you need a reminder about romance, and enjoying the finder things in life, Versailles is the place to do it! Louis XIV created the ultimate in opulence at Versailles, and whether you wander aimlessly in the amazing gardens, or take a guided tour of the chateau, it is an experience you’ll never forget.

Cannes

If you’ve ever wondered what the famous city that the awards show is hosted in is like, why not plan a part of your French adventure there? Being on the Cote D’ Azur, and a part of the famous French Riviera, it’s got fabulous weather, and you can relax and enjoy the good life in this city. Take a walk along the Croisette, or plan your trip to coincide with the festival, and do some star gazing of a different kind!

St Tropez

If you’re flush with cash, and want to visit the highlight of the French Riviera, St Tropez is almost certainly for you. This area is almost exclusively geared towards the well heeled tourist, and you can shop, laze on gorgeous beaches, charter a boat, or dine in fantastic restaurants. Not cheap, but certainly a holiday you’ll remember forever.

Provence

If celebrities, big cities and bling are not your thing, then Provence is probably a good choice for your Gallic holiday. At Aix you can visit hot baths, relax and unwind before you visit one of the museums, or stroll down the tree lined Cours

Mirrabeau.

Also in Provence, you can visit Nimes, and if you enjoy theater, take in a show at the Place des Arenes – where the theater is as much of an attraction as the production – it’s an ancient roman amphitheater!

There’s so much more to see and do in France, from the commercial magic of Euro Disney to fine wines in Burgundy. You can even spend the night at Carcassonne, a walled medieval city, and imagine yourself as a lord or lady.

The only trouble with visiting France, in fact, is deciding what you are going to see, and what to save for a return journey. But when it comes to romance, and a taste of the good life, you cannot do better as a holiday destination.
