South Africa Vacations

If you’ve always dreamed of visiting Africa, but are worried that the continent is unstable or dangerous, then South Africa may be just the place for you. It’s got modern, interesting cities, with all the comforts of home, but still has a little of that wild African spirit to it.
Western CapeCape Town is fast becoming a major tourist destination, and for good reason. The city has amazing nightlife, so if it’s a party you’re looking for, you don’t need to venture far. Long Street, in the heart of Cape Town itself, is one of the best places to find bars, clubs and restaurants. Then again, there are also some beautiful white sand beaches, like Clifton and Camps Bay, where you can catch some rays, and see the beautiful people – I wouldn’t recommend swimming though – the Atlantic is cold most times of the year. Then there’s the famous table mountain. If you want to see the city from a different perspective, take the cable car to the top, or if you’re feeling very ambitious, try a hike. But remember to take a guide – the mountain can be confusing! The Cape is also famous for it’s wines, so if you like wines, why not take one of the wine route tours and sample the local product, which is world class! Most of the wineries also have restaurants, and some are historic monuments, so there are lots of things to do. -- South Africa Vacations --

Kwa Zulu NatalKwa Zulu Natal is the home of the Zulu nation, so if you like cultural experiences, a visit to one of the traditional villages is a must do. If city life is more your thing, Durban has a whole lot to offer – amazing beaches, where you can swim safely thanks to the shark nets, beachfront restaurants, nightclubs and bars are all available, and, thanks to a large Indian community, there are many great Indian restaurants, spice shops and markets. There are also several world class casinos in Durban, so if you’re feeling lucky, why not try your hand at the tables or slots? Outside Durban, it’s a short drive to the Oribi gorge, where you can see some amazing bird and wild life, or you could head down to the south coast, for scuba diving, swimming, or just a more relaxed and less crowded beach holiday. -- South Africa Vacations --
Northern CapeIf you’re looking for a holiday with a difference, and the bright lights of another city hold no temptation, but you’d like to see Africa in it’s raw, untamed state, the Northern Cape is one place to do just that. Wide open spaces, an almost lunar landscape in parts, the strange “halfmens” plants and a night sky lit up with more stars than you’re ever likely to see again in one place all await in the Richtersveld. Even Kimberley, one of the major cities in the Northern Cape, is little more than a dusty mining town, with the famous big hole, and the historic mining village, both offering a trip down memory lane, into a quieter, gentler time. Then again, an off road adventure, sleeping under the stars, viewing wildlife and just getting away from everything, might be just the thing to clear the cobwebs. South Africa is a strange country, with so many different landscapes and attractions, but where ever you go, you can be sure of great weather, friendly people, and lots of interesting attractions. -- South Africa Vacations --
