SHMILY

by Christy

My husband and I once read this book one of the chapters was titled "SHMILY." It was a story of this couple who would write the word SHMILY on things for their spouse to find. Sometimes this word was written in obvious places (e.g. bathroom mirror) other times in hidden places (e.g. the flour jar). We had went through some rough times and thankfully God brought us through it. We decided right then and there we were going to be the "SHMILY" couple and when we are old we will have a lifetime of SHMILY to remember. Well that was more than 5 years ago and we still SHMILY each other. I bought my husband a journal for his Bible studies. On every page I wrote "SHMILY" he cried. The word SHMILY means See How Much I Love You. Very simple and very romantic. I love days when I find it written somewhere. It reminds me of how far we come and how much he loves me! A simple gesture can go a long way!

shmily
by: Misty

I was seeing a man and we were keeping it a secret because we worked in the same department at work and that was against the rules. We could not come out and say I love you in front of people. During that time I came across the SHMILY story. We became that couple. He would write it on an airbill that was coming to my area, or I would sneak into the office and flip days ahead on his calendar and stick a post it note. Once he sent me a series of emails so that in my inbox it spelled at SHMILY. I had it engraved in his wedding band. 9.5 years later, we are still leaving it around the house and office.

Have fun with SHMILY tokens
by: Scott Ertl

My wife and I love the SHMILY story. Last year we made a simple wooden SHMILY token and have enjoyed taking turns surprising each other by hiding it it places to show each other how much we love each other. Since we've enjoyed it so much, we decided to make them available to others.
