Romantic Ways To Propose

Proposing to the person you love can be one of the most memorable moments in your relationship. Making that memory last a lifetime will come automatically if you do the right planning; preparation and implementation, and make use of all of the things you know will make their heart melt!

If you work hard to keep your partner on their toes and come up with ideas that specifically suit their personality, you’ll give them a timeless memory that will last a lifetime!

Here is list of ideas that will help you create the most memorable, breathtaking proposal your partner could ever imagine!

1. Make a series of lists that include all of the top things that your partner loves. These can include: fond childhood memories, long lost friends, memorable places, favorite foods, animals, smells, music, etc.

Here are some examples of the lists you might consider creating:

Top things you know your partner enjoys

- Foods
- Scents
- Animals
- People/Friends
- Vehicles
- Events
- Clothing
- Products
- Entertainment/Sporting Events
- Colors
- Movies

Top locations

- Places from their childhood that mean a lot to them
- Places they’ve always wanted to travel to
- Places they feel comfortable and at home
- Places they miss but haven’t been to in a long time
- Places they’ve seen in their favorite movies
- Places they don’t know exist yet but would absolutely love

Most important people in their life

- Family
- Friends
- Coworkers
- Famous idols / People they’ve always wanted to meet
- People or animals who have passed away and mean a lot to them
- Ancestors / People who show them where they came from

Fondest memories

- Memories from childhood
- Memories from your relationship together
- Most romantic scenes from a movie

Important dates

- Your first date
- An anniversary of the first time you did something (meaningful) together
- A date that they accomplished something tremendous

Use these lists as your “go-to guide” to help bring more meaning to your proposal. Everything point on these lists should represent something special that is tied to your partner’s heart. By incorporating these things ideas into your proposal, you will show your partner that you made a real effort to create a proposal that would be meaningful and memorable to them.

2. Look to others for influence. Find some tired and true proposal ideas that have been proven to stand out, such as:

- Proposals featured in movies, TV shows or books
- Ask friends and family what they’ve done or seen done
- Use the same proposal method that your partner’s parents used

3. Choosing the ring

It’s no easy task to find the perfect ring that will match your partner’s tastes but there are steps you can take to help ensure that the one you choose is as close to perfect as possible! Here are some tips:

- Get her close friends and family to help you decide
- Pay attention to the type of jewelry she owns / picks out for herself; her jewelry drawer should be full of examples of the style she likes.
- Get her close friends to point out some rings while they’re together one day, then have them secretly tell you which ones she went crazy for!
- Check out our page on choosing the perfect ring.

4. Overall, the most important things to focus on are the:

- Location
- Date and time
- Choosing the perfect ring

Anything else is extra; if you focus on too many things at once you’ll go crazy, so try to keep your attention on one thing at a time. Once you line up these 3 key elements, the rest will follow, just remember not to rush things!

Still unsure of what you want to do? Here are some tips and romantic ways to propose that should help get those creative juices flowing!

Tips On Romantic Ways To Propose

* Get a friend to secretly video tape your proposal. It will be a great memory for the two of you to look back on. You can also share it with your guests at your wedding reception.

* You don't necessarily have to spend a lot of money. What counts the most is the amount of time and effort you put into planning that special day for your partner.

* Think about special things from the past and incorporate them into the surprise. Using places or items with some kind of memory attached will bring back good feelings.

* Play a favorite romantic song in the background. It will enhance the mood tremendously. Especially if that song has some kind of significance.

* Secretly plan a romantic adult getaway but dont let them know about it. Tell them you're going one place, but really take them somewhere else..the surprise is worth the extra effort.

* Blind fold them if you're taking them somewhere special so they don't guess the destination in advance. When thinking of romantic ways to propose, its always fun to add a little mystery.

* Do you know what you're going to say? Do you have any romantic phrases planned to tell your partner before you propose? Find romantic things to say to your partner to let them know how you truly feel about them.

* Read the ebook "Romantics Guide To Popping The Question - 101 Marriage Proposal Stories" by Michael Webb. It has alot of great ideas that can help you decide what kind of proposal is right for you.The author was featured on Oprah, NBC News, FOX News, and Men are From Mars/ Women are From Venus.

* Go to many different retailers before you buy your engagement ring. You don't want to buy a ring, and then find out that the same ring is a hundred dollars cheaper in the store across the street.
I recommend buying your ring online. The savings are usually much greater than buying from a local retail store.

* Read our guide called Engagement Ring Buying Tips to learn what to look for when selecting a ring.

There are lots of different ways to answer that question..

* Are there any places of significance that tie well to your relationship? Like the place you had your first date or kiss

* How about your partner's favorite restaurant?

* Is there a place that they have always wanted to go? If money isn't much of an issue, take them on a romantic weekend getaway. Here are some great romantic travel destinations

* Where do you spend the most time together? Think about how you can incorporate that place into your proposal.

* Has your partner ever told you about a place they used to go to? Somewhere they miss and would love to go back and visit? Maybe somewhere from their childhood..

Transportation

No matter what you have in mind, or where you plan to go. The most romantic ways to propose always have that little something extra.

Thats what makes them so incredible!

Bringing a "different" form of transportation to the mix can really add a unique aspect to your proposal. Especially if you decide to try something you and your partner have never experienced.

Here are some creative methods you can use, to take your sweetheart to your proposal destination. Take a look and decide which one your partner would enjoy the most.

* Boat, canoe, sail boat, house boat, yaught

* Motorcycle

* Hot air balloon

* Limousine

* Helicopter

* Small Airplane

* Horse

* Exotic car

* Horse drawn carriage

Romantic Ways To Propose

* Take them back to the place where you had your first date, or your first kiss. Recreate the events of your first night together as a couple. Try to make it EXACTLY how it was back then.

* Decorate your bedroom romantically and dim the lights. When your partner comes home and walks into the room, have the ring in a box on the bed. When your partner opens it, slowly appear from the shadows, get down on one knee, and pop the question.

* If you're away on a business trip, secretly come home early and when you know your partner is on the computer, send them an e-mail telling them to look in the cupboard (or wherever else you prefer). Have the ring hiding in the cupboard and when they open it, show up and propose. They'll be even happier because you came back early.

* On your partner's birthday have them come with you to pick out a birthday cake. Tell them to pick out a cake from the display section in the store. But in advance have a special cake put on display for them to come across, that says "will you marry me?" with the ring on top.

* Take your partner to the top of a building or hill where the view is amazing and pop the question. Bring a picnic and some homemade hot chocolate to add to the surprise.

* Take your partner to a really beautiful park at night time. Have tons of small white lights or candles (be really careful if you use candles always have someone there to monitor them) scattered all around and dangling from the trees for when you arrive.

* Go for an overnight boat ride (rent one if you don't have one already) and propose at either sunrise or sunset. Bring Champaign, munchies and extra blankets for cuddling.

* If you're an outdoorsie couple, hike to the top of a mountain. Or take a helicopter to the top. The view will be incredible!

* Go on a romantic adult getaway and propose at a location unique to where you are staying. For example, if you're in Paris, propose on or in front of the Eiffel Tower. Or if you're in Mexico, take a trip to see the Mayan Ruins and propose among them. There are so many great landmarks out there. Find out where your partner has always wanted to go and surprise them with a trip there.

* On a special occasion like Christmas or Valentines day, wrap the ring up as a present and give it to them in an oversized box (this will keep them from guessing your surprise).

* Send your partner on a romantic scavenger hunt. Have clues set up all over your house or neighbourhood, each leading them to the next. (Make the clues significant by relating them to memories from your past together) At the hunt's final location, be waiting with the ring.

* This is one of my favorite Romantic Ways To Propose! Try borrowing your proposal from your partner's favorite romantic movie.

There are tons out there, just find out their favorite one and recreate it. It will spotlight your romance just like they've always dreamed!
