Looking for ideas on how to
spend romantic evenings at home?

-- Romantic Evenings At Home --

While getting all dolled up for a night out on the town has its charms, there’s definitely something special about those romantic evenings at home. How can you turn a simple Thursday night into a memorable, romantic evening? It’s all about the details.

Romantic lighting

It’s hard to feel romantic under glaring lights. For a romantic evening in, make sure that you’ve got a dimmer switch – or some “mood lighting” which can be achieved by using smaller lamps around the room instead of a harsher overhead light. Candles are also an excellent way to add romance to the ambiance! Arrange a few on a tray, or floating in water-filled bowls.

Romantic Dinner

Serving a romantic dinner is a must for a quiet evening at home! Whether you’ve ordered in or spent hours in the kitchen yourself, it’s all in the presentation. Put on some quite music, light the candles, and serve up plates that have been arranged nicely. Add a few special touches to give the evening a restaurant-quality feel, such as fresh bread and a plate of olive oil and balsamic vinegar for dipping.

Romantic Desserts

You can’t have a romantic night at home without a bit of chocolate! Surprise your honey with a delicacy from the local bakery, or homemade sundaes! Beautifully arranged fruit, a favorite childhood treat, or even just a square of high-quality chocolate are all wonderful ways to add some sweetness to the evening! To make any plate extra gorgeous, simply drizzle a bit of chocolate sauce and grate some dark chocolate over it!

Romantic Talks

If you’re planning a special evening, it’s a great time to really talk to your partner. It’s a nice time to fantasize about the future, talk about how happy you are, and discuss where your relationship is going in terms of commitment, marriage, or children. If you have some special news to share with your partner, such as a pregnancy or a promotion, it’s nice to set the tone first by making the evening special with a few romantic touches.

Special Times

Spending time with the person you love is always romantic. Whether you choose to spend your evening outdoors with a bottle of wine, or indoors with a favorite romantic movie, it’s all about being 100% focused on your partner. When she’s talking, really listen – ask questions, make eye contact, and show that you really care. When he’s saying something to you, be sure that you are focused on what he’s saying, and not what your work day will be like tomorrow, what’s on your grocery list, or what shade of highlights you should be getting. Focusing on each other is what spending a romantic evening at home is really all about!

An evening at home can be a romantic time to break some big news, talk about the future, or just relax in each other’s company. Romance doesn’t need to be about expensive jewelry and fancy dinners: sometimes, the most romantic times of all are those that just “happen” – eating ice cream in bed, playing a board game, or sharing a glass of wine for no reason. Whether you’re celebrating something special, or just celebrating your love, a romantic night at home can certainly be a night to remember!
