-- Romantic Desserts --
Chocolates and sweets have long been associated with love and romance! If you want to plan a romantic type of dessert, it’s not difficult at all – practically every dessert can be served in a romantic fashion. From pies to truffles, and everything in between, one thing is for sure: the way to a man’s heart isn’t always through his stomach. Sometimes, it’s through his sweet tooth! We’ve compiled a list of some of the most romantic desserts for you to enjoy!
Chocolate Covered Strawberries: What could be more romantic than this age old delicacy? Fresh strawberries are dipped into warm melted chocolate, and allowed to harden. You can purchase chocolate covered strawberries from high end chocolate shops – but bring your credit card because these delectable sweets aren’t cheap! Why not make your own? Simply melt some high end chocolate in a sauce pan, wash some strawberries, then, holding each strawberry by it’s green leafy head, dip it in the chocolate. Allow the fruit to set on a tray covered in wax paper in the refrigerator.
Fondue: Mmmm, Fondue! The French have been pouring over this delicacy for years, and it’s easy to see why! It’s absolutely delicious, completely decadent, and the fact that you need to linger over it makes it especially romantic. Did we mention that it’s easy to prepare? Simple cut up some fruit into bite-size pieces: strawberries, bananas, oranges, kiwi, and apple are all delicious. Add some marsh-mellows, too! Melt your chocolate in the fondue pot (you know, the one that you received as a housewarming gift all those years ago, that’s still in the box?). and serve the fruit on a pretty tray.
Heart-Shaped Treats: You can make virtually any sweet treat romantic by serving it in the shape of a heart. Invest in some heart-shaped bake-ware: cookie cutters, cake pans, and some sprinkles and icing accessories. From brownies to cakes and cookies, you can create romantic desserts in a flash with any old recipe!
Chocolate Mousse: This delicacy is actually quite easy to make – it’s basically melted chocolate beaten together with whipped cream. Serve it in pretty wine glasses or martini glasses, and add a bit of mint on top for a fresh and delicious look. Make sure your spoons are long enough to work with the glasses you’ve chosen!
Serving Romantic DessertsWhipping up a fancy dessert is one thing, but every good chef knows that presentation is half the battle! Use a simple white plate, and start by sprinkling the outer rim with cocoa or cinnamon for a professional look. If you’ve purchased your dessert, remove it from all packaging and put it on the plate. Arrange the food as artistically as you can, and garnish it beautifully using chocolate sticks, mint, or fresh fruit. It will look like it was taken right off the set of a fancy food television show! Romantic desserts are the perfect way to end a lovely meal – or to enjoy on their own. Dim the lights, play some music, and enjoy! Add a fancy dessert wine or a port (or a big glass of milk!) and savor every bite. -- Romantic Desserts --
