Romantic comedy movies are wonderfully light-hearted, humorous and dramatic stories, centered around the romance of couples falling in love.

They are a great addition to spending a romantic night with your partner.

In romantic comedy movies, the general story is that two people will meet, and then part ways due to certain obstacles. They must overcome these obstacles in order to be together.

They are meant to make you laugh and smile, by watching the couple in their efforts to experience true love.

Not only are there many great romantic comedy movies out today, but romantic comedies have been around for ages. Some famous examples are in Shakespeare's plays "Much Ado About Nothing" and "A Midsummer Night's Dream".

Jerry Mcguire (1996)

Normally all Jerry McGuire cared about was money. But one day he sent out a company wide memo suggesting they focus more on caring for fewer clients, rather than be in it purely for the money. He was fired for this and forced to start over from scratch with one client and an assistant who stuck by his side.


The Wedding Planner (2001)

One of the most hilarious Romantic Comedy movies. Mary is a wedding planner who unknowingly falls for a man who she later finds out is a groom from a wedding she's planning. Now she has to decide if she'll help him make his wedding a success, or if she should pursue him and possibly become the bride herself.


She's All That (1999)

The coolest guy in school makes a bet with his buddies that by dating him, he can get any girl in the school to become prom queen. His friends choose Laney, the High School geek.

He gives her a makeover, and during his attempts to make her 'less of a weirdo' he begins to fall in love with her.


Crazy / Beautiful (2001)

Nicole is the 17-year-old troubled daughter of a wealthy congressman who never met a rule she didn't break. Carlos is an 'A' student with big dreams. He endures a two-hour bus ride every morning to attend high school in an upscale L.A. neighbourhood.

Their flirtations quickly develop into intense love, but Nicole's self- destructive behavior threatens their relationship and puts Carlos' promising future in jeopardy.


Pretty Woman (1990)

Edward is a rich and sophisticated businessman. Vivian is a Los Angeles prostitute struggling with her lifestyle and has a hard time paying the rent.

On a business trip to Los Angeles, Edward hires Vivian to be his girlfriend for a week while he visits the local social circles. Love and complications complicate their arrangement and have the pair wondering if their story could a happy ending.


Runaway Bride (1999)

Maggie is known in town as "the Runaway Bride", because she has left so many men standing at the alter. But recently she's decided to give marriage another go by getting engaged once more. A reporter is assigned to write a story about her, and comes all the way to her home town to do it. However, as the two get closer, Maggie finds herself having second thoughts about her fiance.


You've Got Mail (1998)

Joe Fox is the executive of a large chain of mega-sized bookstores. His latest venture is about to open up across the street from a small children's bookstore owned by Kathleen Kelly.

Afraid of going out of business, Kelly detests Joe and the corporate culture he represents. But, unknown to her (and to him), this is the same man she has been chatting intimately with online.


Never Been Kissed (1999)

Josie Geller, at 25 the youngest Chicago Sun-Times copy editor, desperately want to become a reporter.

She gets her chance when her boss assigns her to do a feature on what cool High School kids are doing. But to really find out, she has to go undercover as a student.

The only problem is that her high school years were less than favorable. She was known as the school geek, and embarrassed by her all time crush.

This is her chance to re-do her high school years, find love, and learn a lesson in what is truly important.


Ten Things I Hate About You (1999)

A remake of the classic Shakespare play "The Taming of the Shrew", this story is set in a modern day high school.

Bianca is dying to go out with Joey, the most popular and attractive guy at their school.

Bianca's sister Kat would rather die than go out with a boy. Their father has a rule where Bianca can only date when Kat does.

Because Joey wants to go out with Bianca, so he arranges a deal with Patrick to woo Kat into going out with him. But Patrick and Kat end up falling for each other.


Far & Away (1992)

After some trouble, a young man leaves Ireland with his landlord's daughter in persuite of owning land that is being given away in America.

When they get to the new land, they find jobs and begin saving money. But not everything works out as planned when the young woman's parents come looking for her.


Notting Hill (1999)

William Thacker, a successless Notting Hill bookstore owner befriends Anna Scott, the world's most beautiful woman and best-liked actress.

They spend months together and become very close, but things get difficult when the press and public find out about their secret love life.


The Wedding Singer (1998)

lays Robbie Hart, a suburban wedding singer gets dumped at the altar by his fiancee.

He works with Julia, who is engaged to the wrong guy, and he falls in love with her.

He then tries to figure out how he can make Julia realize that her fiance is the wrong guy for her.
