Romantic Anniversary Ideas

-- Romantic Anniversary Ideas --

Happy anniversary! Coming up with romantic anniversary ideas is such a fun way to express how you feel towards your partner. Celebrating your anniversary is so special – it’s like a wonderful holiday that only the two of you really know about. Celebrate it to the maximum – after all, it only comes by once a year!

Get Romantic

Flowers. Candlelit dinners. Sweet nothings. While all these things might sound cheesy or cliché, they are actually sweet ways to express how you feel. Candles are romantic. Flowers are a fabulous way to say “I love you.” Don’t let your feelings that certain things are what other couples do – go ahead and do it!

Get Creative

While classic offerings like roses and chocolate are lovely, it never hurts to add your own unique spin on time honored (and tested) romantic gestures. Instead of roses, take note of her favorite flower in advance; and then surprise her with it on your anniversary. Instead of plain old chocolates, buy all the ingredients and make truffles together – then give her a framed copy of the recipe with a note that says not even all the truffles in the world are as sweet as she is to you! Adding a unique spin on classic romance is a fun way to fuse two approaches together to make them your own.

Get Out of this World!

Why not really shock her with something she would never expect! The “shock” factor on your anniversary results in a major surprise, which is (almost) always romantic. Now, just to clarify: there are some things in life that should not be surprises. For example: “Honey, happy anniversary! Surprise – I sold our house and bought us a condo!” This would most likely be met with tears and anger, unless of course, you had already talked about this major life change. Then, there are the surprises that are “good surprises,” such as:

-Surprise! I booked us a trip to Hawaii. Your bag is packed and we leave tomorrow and I’ve already cleared it with your boss.

-Surprise! It’s a boy!

-Surprise! You’re spending the day at the spa.

-Surprise! There’s a brand new computer on your desk.

-Surprise! I got you the puppy I said you couldn’t get.

The trick to a good surprise? You should know that it’s something your partner will absolutely love!

Get Personal!

One of the most romantic things you can do is look out for your partner. Why not purchase a service or something that will make his or her life easier? For example, maybe your wife never makes time for herself. Get her a pass to a local yoga studio or a spa gift certificate with a note that says how much you appreciate everything she does for you, and now it’s time for her to do something for herself!

Romantic Anniversary at Home

So, as much as we would all love to, not everyone has the funds for a surprise trip to Hawaii. That’s okay – it doesn’t mean you can be romantic. Romantic anniversary ideas start at home, and don’t need to cost a fortune. A day of at home romance could include:

-New favorite bath products in the shower-Breakfast in bed-A homemade dinner by candlelight-A love note on her dashboard when she gets in the car-A surprise lunch visit at work-A text message every hour on the hour saying why you love him-Watching his favorite movie, or her favorite movie!

Romantic ideas can be inexpensive or over-the-top – it’s all about coming up with creative ideas that express how you feel. The look of joy on your partner’s face will make all your hard work worth it!

Make your anniversary one of the most special days of the year by coming up with romantic anniversary ideas that will leave your partner swooning all year long! Now, the only problem? Your partner will expect something even better next year! Not an issue – you’ve got a whole year to start planning!
