Puerto Rico Attractions

Puerto Rico is one of the largest countries in the Caribbean!

So no matter what you’re looking for in a Caribbean holiday, it’s almost guaranteed to deliver!

Admire the Architecture

Take a stroll through Old San Juan, and look at the hundreds of restored buildings that line the streets. It’s a great introduction to the real Puerto Rico, and a great way to imagine the island the way it was years ago. If you like nostalgia, or want some authentic holiday snaps, it’s a must!

El Morro Tour

Still on the note of Puerto Rico history, why not take a trip to El Morro, the Spanish fort, that’s now a museum. If you really want to know what life in Puerto Rico was like, this is a great place to find out.

Visit a Bay That Glows

If you want something different to do at night, then a trip to Puerto Mosquito is a must. You see, it’s here that you find the bio luminescent bay that so famous. Sit on the beach; watch the sun set, and then watch the bay start to glow, thanks to some pretty unique plankton. Definitely an evening out with a difference.

Rincon – Surfers Paradise

Of course, you’re planning to spend endless hours on the beach. If you want to combine that with some activity, head to Rincon and take a surfing lesson. This is a world class surfing beach, but it is tricky for beginners. One of the instructors should be able to get you standing on the board by the time you have to head home though, and you’re likely to be a lifelong convert!

Turtle Sanctuary

If you like the idea of combining a little eco tourism with your sun seeking, then a trip to Culebra Island and the turtle breeding ground is a must.

If you’re very, very lucky, you might even see the tiny leatherback turtle hatchlings make their first trip to the ocean!

Go Caving

The Rio Camuy Caves, located in a forest filled with sinkholes, is another great natural attraction to explore while you’re in Puerto Rico. Just make sure you take a guide with you, wear comfortable shoes, and that you’re not claustrophobic!

Hit the Casinos

Puerto Rico Attractions

San Juan has several beach front casinos, so if you are feeling lucky while you’re in Puerto Rico, why not get dressed up in your finest, and see if lady luck smiles on you? Slot machines, blackjack tables and roulette, as well as well dressed guests, expensive cocktails and bright lights are all on the menu.

Whatever you do in Puerto Rico, whether it’s one of the activities I’ve mentioned, or spending some quality time bonding with your sun lounger, scuba diving or touring the El Yunque Rainforest with its tropical birds and animals, you’re sure to be left wanting more.

Puerto Rico is all about romance, Caribbean heat and rhythm, history and culture, with a good dash of nightlife and more modern pursuits thrown into the mix. Whatever you are looking for in your Caribbean holiday, you’re sure to find it in Puerto Rico.
