Though it is quite moving, man cannot live on romance alone (not forever anyway) and in Rome, there are some other amazing attractions, like St Peters Basilica, and the Sistine Chapel, where Michaelangelo created his masterpiece.

Of course, while you will want to make time for more modern pursuits like shopping in world class boutiques, and sampling the fine dining and nightlife, make sure you make time to visit the Coliseum, the Forum and the Pantheon, and feel dwarfed by their sheer immensity.

Last, and certainly not least, on our list of things to do in Rome, once you’ve shopped till you dropped, and to work off all that fine food, why not take a sunset stroll through the Piazzas?

Italy may be famous for food, sunshine and romance, but the Italian Alps offer an unbeatable trip to those looking for a winter wonderland too. Aosta valley offers some of the best skiing in Europe, spend some time in mountain villages in the Lombardy area, unchanged for centuries, or just enjoy the pristine mountain beauty at Alto Adige, or Trentino. If you like the idea of a winter white, crisp, cozy holiday, and you think spending the time cuddling in front of a fire, or sweeping elegantly (or not so elegantly) down the slopes, an Alpine holiday in Italy is a great idea!

Tuscany

With beaches, vineyards, cities like Florence filled with glorious renaissance art, and attractions like the leaning tower of Pisa, the question is not what is there to do in Tuscany, but rather, what is there not to do.

Added to that the Tuscan region’s reputation for delicious cuisine, and fine wines, horse riding or strolling through the glorious hills, or even a trip to an aquarium, and you’ll be hard pressed to decide what to do next.
