If you’re like most people, when you think of Ireland, you think of leprechauns, the Blarney stone, and Irish pubs. Of course, chances are you’ve seen a few reproductions of the latter at some stage or another! Nearly every city in the world seems to have at least one imitation Irish pub, complete with shamrocks and Guinness. What this means is that the Irish way of life (or at least a little of it) should be familiar to you. But there’s a lot more to see than you might have thought!
Dublin If you love shopping, Grafton Street in Dublin has to be on your itinerary. And since it’s a pedestrian arcade, you can disguise your retail therapy as the desire to stroll through the city. Crafty. Of course, if shopping’s not on the agenda, you could do your strolling in St Stephen’s Green, one of the city’s most beautiful parks. A sunset stroll through the park, looking at busts of famous Irishmen and women is just the thing to get you ready for the nightlife! After hours, Temple Bar, with its hip and happening clubs, restaurants and pubs is also a must see, if you love nightlife. Or, if you want a romantic, quieter option, why not take a walk along Ha’Penny Bridge, the cast iron bridge across the River Liffey? Then again, visits to the Old Jameson distillery, or the Guinness factory, are also a great way to sample some of Ireland’s great products, and take a walk down memory lane. Just don’t overdo the sampling. -- Places To Visit In Ireland --

BlarneyWe could all do with a little more in the art of persuasion, and according to local legend, that’s exactly what you’ll get at Castle Blarney. Of course, you’ll have to climb over a hundred stairs, and hang upside down to kiss the Blarney stone, but maybe it’s worth it? If not, it’s a great photo opportunity!
The Giants CausewayIf you love a romantic story, albeit a mythical one, then a visit to the famous Giant ’s Causeway is for you! According to the story, Fionn MacCumhaill, a giant, threw the huge, regular basalt polygonal stones or steps into the sea to reach his wife in Scotland. The real story, that they resulted from a volcanic eruption, lacks the romance, but this is still an amazing place to visit! -- Places To Visit In Ireland --
Newgrange If you love history, or are interested in ancient cultures, then a visit to the five thousand year old Newgrange is a must. It’s older than the pyramids, and covered in Celtic symbols. Make sure you visit on the winter solstice though – it’s the only day of the year that the building allows any light in! That’s part of the reason it’s so interesting.
Ireland is a great place to visit – the people are friendly, there is history, art, fantastic restaurants, and of course those pubs. There are also wide open spaces, lakes and other getaways a little off the beaten track. Whether you like natural wonders, like the Giant’s Causeway, or the Cliffs of Moher, the highest cliffs in Europe, or whether you want the buzz of Dublin, you’re sure to find just what you’re looking for. -- Places To Visit In Ireland --
