Holidays To China
-- Holidays To China --

Are you planning a visit to China? There definitely is no shortage of reasons to visit this extraordinary Country. Along with the food and shopping, there are also many famous, historical attractions, like the Great Wall, and the Forbidden City. Still the reasons don't end there.. The country is also a great place to visit if you like history, culture, natural beauty, and something distinctly different.
The Terracotta ArmyIf you are in China, make sure you make the time to see the thousands of terracotta soldiers that were discovered near the Qinshihuang Mausoleum near Xi’an. What really makes it spooky, and eerie, is that all the soldiers look different, which kind of adds to the feeling that they might move. Or come to life. -- Holidays To China -- Potala PalacePotala Palace is another place, like the Taj Mahal, built for love. Except where the Taj Majal was built as a mausoleum, the Potola Palace was built to welcome a new bride! And what a welcome. The palace had various owners over the years, but now, it’s a fourteen story monstrosity perched on top of Red Mountain. Not only is it great exercise, with the hundred or so steps to and from the building, but it’s a really interesting trip too. So you can get a workout, and learn something, at the same time!

Three Gorges DamJust about any spot along the 6300 kilometer Yangtze River is gorgeous, but the area around the controversial Three Gorges is probably one of the most beautiful. If you want to see the rural China made famous in books, pictures and movies, then this is where you should go!
West LakeIf you love natural beauty, another spot you need to make sure you visit is West Lake. Surrounded by weeping willow trees, ancient pagodas and rockeries. You can also take a walk out over the serene lake itself, on one of the three causeways. It’s not a water sport type of place though, so just go for the peace and quiet, and beauty. You won’t be disappointed. -- Holidays To China --
HuangshanThe Chinese have a saying about Huangshan. They say that once you’ve seen Huangshan, or the Yellow Mountain, you never have to see another mountain. I’m not so sure about that, but this is the quintessential Asian mountain. Waterfalls and pine trees. Misty and mysterious. It’s absolutely beautiful, and if you get a chance to go there, don’t hesitate – you will not regret it.
Dali If you’re feeling a little homesick when you’re in China, and you might – it’s that different – head for Dali. There’s a much more Westernized feeling here, with Western style streets, shops and English speaking shop owners. These are just a few of the attractions in China. Of course there are also big cities, like Beijing, where you can see modern china at its best, visit clubs, shopping malls and restaurants, but if you want to find the “real” China, look for it in the countryside. Then again, walking down ancient pathways, visiting forgotten palaces, and seeing those terracotta warriors is enough to make you feel like you’ve travelled back in time. So, go for the food, the history, and the amazing scenery, and everything else is a bonus! -- Holidays To China --
