The Hawaiian Islands
-- Hawaiian Islands --

The idea of trying to convince someone to visit Hawaii on their next vacation seems a little strange. I mean, here’s an island with fantastic natural scenery, no snakes, and world class infrastructure, since its part of the United States! Beaches, shopping, entertainment, romance and relaxation – Hawaii really is an amazing destination. But, for the interest of argument, let me expand on a few of the lesser known attractions of this amazing place.
Visit an Active VolcanoIf you’re a thrill seeker, then Kilauea on the big Island is a must see. In fact, it’s not only one of the world’s most active volcanoes; it’s actually erupting right now. Don’t worry too much though, it’s not the explosive, destructive type of eruption – this one has been going on since 1983, and although there is lava, it’s a lot less like an explosion, and more like an ooze. Still if you want something to tell people at home, and a few very unique snapshots, the hike through the rainforest to reach the volcano is definitely worth it! -- Hawaiian Islands --
Get an Aerial ViewHawaii has some of the most amazing natural scenery ever, and one of the best ways to see it (if you’re not petrified of heights) is from a helicopter. So if you really want a “bird’s eye view” of the amazing landscape, why not take a helicopter trip around the island of Kauai?

Watch the WhalesIf you love nature and wildlife, there’s a great way to combine watching the amazing whales in Hawaii – take a catamaran trip to their breeding grounds, and you’ll get to see them really up close and personal. Then again, the sailing isn’t bad either! -- Hawaiian Islands --
Snorkel MolokiniOf all the islands in Hawaii, Molokini has the clearest water, which means you have visibility of between eighty and two hundred feet. Perfect to drift through the warm water, watch the turtles and fish swimming around. In fact, since most of the charter boats have flotation devices, you don’t even need to be able to swim! Then again, you could always opt to stay dry, and just take a glass bottomed boat out to explore the ocean. -- Hawaiian Islands --
Go to a LuauI don’t know about you, but when I think of Hawaii, I automatically think of grass skirts, leis and luaus. Think fire dancing, men with painted faces, and women in the famous grass skirts. Add a buffet of traditional local dishes, and a few tropical cocktails, and you have the perfect date idea while you’re in the islands.
Golfing and Shopping If you’re travelling with your partner, there’s a great solution if you want to do something separately one day – let him play a round or two on one of Hawaii’s world class golf courses, while you visit the shops and boutiques for some retail therapy. Then you can meet up later, and sample some of the delicious local cuisine, whether it is seafood or any other type of cuisine, food in the Pacific Rim is amazing.
Whether you visit Hawaii for one of these reasons, or just for the amazing beaches and tropical climate, one thing is for sure – it’s the holiday of a lifetime!
