Beer Gift Baskets

Beer gift baskets make great gifts and are usually very unexpected for the people receiving them.

When most people think of gift baskets they think of baskets full of chocolates, cheeses and other gourmet edible items, but beer can be a fun and unexpected alternative to "the usual" gift basket.

Who would want one?

Since beer is one of the most popular drinks of today, any beer drinker would probably love it! Beer is a versatile gift because it suites so many occasions. No matter what time of the year it is, you can be sure that it will be enjoyed. It's also the type of basket that you don't have to worry much about going bad either.

Here are some things to consider when selecting or creating your own beer gift basket :

- What type of beer does your partner enjoy most? Stouts? Blonds? Lagers? Decide which type(s) they prefer and either mix and match or fill the basket completely with that type

- Do they have a favorite brand that they prefer?

- Would they enjoy trying new unique beer from around the world?

- Be sure to add beer accessories to the basket, such as bottle openers, flavor syrups and liquor store/bar gift certificates.

- Instead of using a normal wicker basket, get creative with the packaging! Use things like: a cooler, a metal tub, a carpenter's toolbox, or something related to their field of work.

- Find fun beer toys and memorabilia to pack into the basket as well, such as talking beer coasters, a beer hat or a beer funnel.

Special Notes

- If you're planning to send the basket through the mail, you will definitely need to buy a pre-made one online. The law doesn't allow people without a special lisence to mail alcohol.

- Be careful with packaging. If you're using bottle, be sure to secure them well enough that they won't break during transport.

- While transporting the basket, be sure to keep from shaking up the beer. The last thing you want is for one of the beers to spray all over your partner when they pop the top!
