Do you want a laid back holiday? Are you looking for peace, quiet, relaxation, and the gentle breeze of the islands wafting through the palm fronds? If the birthplace of reggae and the laid back appeal of a warm, sun drenched island appeals, then you should book your ticket to Jamaica immediately.
Legends of WitchcraftIf you like the little shiver you get up your spine during horror movies, a trip to the home of Annie Palmer, Jamaica’s “White Witch” in Montego Bay, one of Jamaica’s largest cities is a must. Rumored to have killed several husbands, as well as slaves, it’s said that her spirit still haunts Rose Hall Great House. Spooky. Also in Montego Bay is Greenwood Great House, a well restored colonial plantation manor, worth a look if you’re interested in the colonial history of the Caribbean and the islands. -- Attractions In Jamaica --
Chilling Out In Ochos RiosAnother great place in Jamaica to pay a visit is Ochos Rios, the cruise capital of Jamaica. Then again, if you visit this town with its markets, restaurants and clubs, you’ll know why! Aside from the town itself, there’s a bay, surrounded by beaches and garden like vegetation. If you like water sports, this is also a great place to indulge yourself, or you might want to visit Dunns River Falls – just don’t expect peace and quiet – it’s a major tourist attraction, and a great photo spot!

Kingston TownChances are, you remember the song – now see the city! Kingston is Jamaica’s largest English speaking city, and has many monuments, parks and other interesting places you can visit. If you like history, and are interested in the culture of Jamaica, rather than just lazing on the beaches, then this is definitely worth a visit.
NegrilIt seems fitting that a resort town be founded by pirates. And that’s exactly the case with Negril! If you want a great excuse to act like a pirate yourself, this is your place – blame it on the atmosphere! But seriously, Negril has a very famous seven mile long stretch of some of the most beautiful beach in Jamaica, and was what drew hippies to the town in the 1960’s and 1970’s! If utter relaxation, spending time on the beach, and just forgetting that the real world even exists is your holiday plan, make sure Negril is on the itinerary. Then, when you get there, throw the itinerary away. -- Attractions In Jamaica --
Treasure Beach and Lovers LeapNot only is Treasure Beach one of southern Jamaica’s best beaches, there’s a local legend that adds a sense of mystery, romance and intrigue. According to the story, two slaves fell in love in the 1700’s, but were denied permission to marry. When their master decided to sell the young female slave, they decided they could not bear to be parted. So they both threw themselves from the top of a thousand foot cliff that overlooks the beach. It’s clear that Jamaica is not all about reggae music! Pirates, witches, and star crossed lovers are all a part of this fascinating little country’s history. So, if you want to visit a place that’s a little like a real life fairytale, in looks and lore, this is the place for you. -- Attractions In Jamaica --
