So you’re planning a holiday, where sun, sea, sand and fun feature heavily. You want to go somewhere hot, tropical and romantic. If that sounds about right, then you should start looking at Anguilla.
DivingYes, Anguilla has fabulous beaches, and the chances are, you’re going to spend days on end lazing on the sand, reading a paperback novel, soaking up the sun, before wandering back to your hotel for cocktails and a fantastic romantic candle lit dinner. However, eventually, you may want to see more of Anguilla, and when that happens, one of the biggest attractions is snorkeling and scuba diving. In fact, Anguilla is known as the wreck diving capital of the Caribbean, and with nine purpose sunk wrecks and a few others just off shore, teaming with beautiful, colorful fish and marine life, there are lots of options. -- Anguilla Vacations --

WatersportsOnce you’ve managed to lever yourself off those beautiful beaches, there are other ways to enjoy the warm, clear waters of the ocean. You could choose to opt for windsurfing or kayaking if you’re feeling adventurous, but why not find out if sailing agrees with you? There are charter companies, where you can hire a sailboat and drift lazily on the water as the sun sets over the Caribbean. What could be better than that?
Hiking and BirdwatchingAfter you’ve spent some time exploring the water, you might find that you have the energy to explore inland attractions. Since there are several hiking trails to choose from, and whether you opt for the nature trail at Cap Juluca, or the rainforest walk at Katouche, you’re guaranteed to have a great time exploring. If you love to look at beautiful birds, Anguilla is also a great place to see some colorful and beautiful species. In fact, there are more than a hundred, and you’ll certainly see a few as you wander around the coast. -- Anguilla Vacations --
Colonial History Like most of the islands of the Caribbean, Anguilla was colonized by Europeans, and if you are interested in the history of the island, then there are quite a few historic monuments that you can visit. One of them is Wallblake house, a plantation manor house from the 18th century. You can almost imagine the house as it was in its heyday, with ladies sipping iced tea on the lawn. Great for a little insight into the history of Anguilla. Then there are the ruins of the Dutch fort that saw a lot of action during its use, and quite a few other interesting places. Natural Attractions Another of the things to do in Anguilla, aside from lazing on the beach, is explore some of the interesting natural features. The Fountain is one – a huge cave, located at Shoal Bay that contains fresh water. Then there are the salt ponds, which you can visit, followed up by a trip to the old salt processing factory. Of course, Anguilla has those fantastic beaches, great Caribbean cuisine to sample, interesting villages, and a whole lot of other attractions. The only problem may be that you can’t seem to drag yourself off the sandy shores. Then again, you could always plan a second trip to see the bits you missed the first time round! -- Anguilla Vacations --
