If you’re dreaming of a beach holiday, somewhere hot, beautiful, laid back and with lots of activities to choose from, then Acapulco is the place for you. It’s not known as the Pearl of the Pacific for nothing, and when you visit, you’re likely to fall in love with the fun and romance Acapulco has to offer.
Hit the BeachGoing to Acapulco without spending huge amounts of time on the beach would be a crime! The beaches are all white sand and lapping waves, and you’ll have a fantastic time lazing on a lounger, working on your tan. The best beaches in Acapulco are Caleta, Hornos and Pie dela Cuesta, the latter of which has fantastic waves and brilliant sunsets too. So if you’d like to surf, or plan a romantic sunset picnic, that’s the one to choose. Other beaches, like Hornitos, offer angling opportunities, or you could rent a boat at Lcacos, if, that is, you need any excuse other than the beach! -- Acapulco Travel Guide --
Explore the Jungle from a BoatSo, after several days, or weeks, of lying on the beach, you might feel the need to do something else. Maybe. If you do, a sailboat trip through the jungles of Coyuca Lagoon might be something to investigate. There are several islands here, many of which have been the scene for movies and TV series’, including Rambo and Tarzan! The scenery is brilliant, and viewed from a boat, there’s nothing too strenuous involved.

Theme ParksAnother great holiday activity in Acapulco is to visit one of the theme parks, which offer something a little out of the ordinary. Cici Aquatic Park has a wave pool, waterslides and dolphin and seal shows. You can also stroll around the aquarium, looking at the tropical species, or visit the private beach club for a relaxed lunch. On the other hand, Papagayo Park has a replica of a Spanish galleon to explore, and another of the space shuttle Columbia, as well as fifty two acres of parkland to stroll through. There are also rides, and a lagoon with bumper boats, if you’d like to act like a kid again. -- Acapulco Travel Guide --
SnorkelIf you prefer your exploration to be of nature, why not go snorkeling in the waters around La Roqueta Island? There are a wide variety of colorful fish and other marine life to look at, and even turtles and stingrays if you’re lucky.
Local CultureIf you do plan to take a stroll around the town, and take in some culture, chances are you’ll end up in the downtown plaza, and if you do, the Cathedral on the Palace is a great place to visit for a little taste of local culture and history. It’s a good example of local architecture, and has Spanish and native influences, as well as a great collection of religious statues. Walking around town will of course reveal many other little experiences, and give you some great memories of your Mexican beach holiday. All in all, Acapulco has it all – fabulous, romantic resorts, beautiful beaches, jungles and entertainment. Combine that with great food, friendly people, and fantastic weather, and you have the recipe for the ultimate beach getaway. Of course, if you choose to do nothing more strenuous than order room service, or lie on the beach, no one will blame you, and you can always plan a second trip to catch the highlights that you’ve missed! -- Acapulco Travel Guide --
